QORTOBA 📍 BAABDAT

Nestled in a traditional stone house, Qortoba is an enchanting restaurant that lures you to Baabdat, a must-visit destination, particularly during the winter season.

Boasting two floors, the recently renovated upper level offers a spacious seating area, a charming fireplace, and a private corner, ideal for special celebrations or events. Meanwhile, the lower floor caters to large private gatherings, perfect for engagement dinners, corporate events, New Year celebrations, and more.

The ambiance of the private events space is truly magical, reminiscent of stepping into the castle from "Beauty and the Beast," where time seems to stand still.

Qortoba specializes in Armenian and Lebanese dishes. Opting for an Armenian-influenced dinner, we relished in the following selections:

- Armenian salad (5.5$) – so delightful that we ordered it twice

- Taboulleh (5$) – slightly dry

- Mante (8.5$) – satisfactory

- Basterma rolls with labneh (7$) – a treat for basterma enthusiasts

- Armenian toshka (13.50$) – a must-try, featuring pita bread with cheese and pastrami

- Kabab khashkhash (11$) – a succulent kabab nestled on a bed of green peppers with tomato sauce, one of my favorites

- Mixed grill (approximately 30$) – a delicious assortment

We complemented our meal with a bottle of Ixir Altitudes red (27$).

A small recommendation I made was to enhance the menu with more options from local wineries, adding to the authenticity. The management assured me they would consider this. Additionally, there's room for improvement in the dessert variety.
